Play it Forward! DM's Guild Event

The Dungeon Masters Guild is a powerful resource for anyone who wants to try their hand at publishing Dungeons and Dragons products and getting a little return on their investment. Whether it's an adventure, a DM resource, or options for players to choose from. This amazing platform gives you everything you need to dip your toes into the proverbial writing waters.

While there are other options out there to do this with, such as DriveThruRpg. The greatest advantage that Dungeon Masters Guild offers is the use of the certified Wizards of the Coast IP. This means names and locations in the forgotten realms, the MTG setting of Ravnica, and more become available to the writer to include into their products. While it's free to publish something on the guild, the cost comes in the form of royalties. The creator only gets 50% of royalties (even less when splitting that share among other creators). Of course, this necessary for the services rendered by the Guild and the access to the the WoTC IP.

With all that out of the way, this brings me to my point, the DM's Guild has just done something amazing for its creators! Called #PlayItForward, this event turns over all royalties to the creators from May 4th 2020 to May 17th 2020. This is a salve will be a great boon to those creators whose livelihood comes from their writing.
