Monster: Black Dragon Whelpling

The black dragon whelpling is born in the murky swamps and fetid bogs of the world, where its mother has carved out a territory for herself. From the moment of hatching, the young dragon is fiercely independent, driven by a desire to explore its surroundings and assert its dominance over any creature that crosses its path.

Despite their diminutive size, black dragon whelps possess a cruel streak that belies their youth. They delight in tormenting small animals, such as frogs and insects, and are quick to lash out at any creature that threatens them. Over time, they grow more cunning and manipulative, using their innate magic to bend weaker creatures to their will.

Despite their fearsome reputation, black dragon whelps are not without their weaknesses. They are easily distracted by shiny objects, and will often abandon their prey if something more interesting catches their eye. They are also vulnerable to attacks that target their mental faculties, such as spells that cause confusion or charm.

Unique Features:

Flight, Immunity to acid, disease, and poisons

Ink Breath: The whelpling releases a spew of dark toxic inky smog that heavily obscures a small surrounding area.

Ink Spray: The whelpling spews a wide spray of black ichor against foes blinding them for a short time.
